With Newbury Ringing Groups long history (formed 1967) it has many sites distributed around the town of Newbury and elsewhere; some sites are long abandoned, no longer exist or are operated by former members.

The group has run many projects over the years back to the BTO Acrocephalus Enquiry of the late 1960s.

Current Projects:

• A Constant Effort Site at Thatcham Marsh Local Nature Reserve Now in Its Nineteenth Year
• A Constant Effort Site Near Kintbury in its Third Year.
• Several Nest Box Schemes Are Operated by Members, One for 26 Years.
• Greenham & Crookham Commons Nest Recorder Group.
• We Contribute Each Year to the BTO Nest Record Scheme
• Willow & Marsh Tit Colour Ringing and Nest Box Scheme
• Barn Owl Nest Box Schemes; assisting local monitoring groups.
• Ringing & Nest Monitoring Assistance to Greenham & Crookham Common Ground Nesting Bird Project
• Several Winter Feeders, One in Its 25th Year.
• Individuals Also Operate their Own Projects.
• We Provide Help with Surveys and Information to Statutory Authorities, Wildlife Trusts and Land Owners for Management and Steward Schemes.
