Jan’s Update:

The following from  my sites only including  my C permit holders sites.

Jan 2012 is quiet compared to Jan 2011 with fewer birds at feeding stations probably due to the mild weather. In particular the are few Redpoll and Siskin flocks in the area; Goldfinch numbers are also down.  Overall the totals are about 50% less than 2011.

Top Captures for the month

• Blue Tit 199, Great Tit 72, Goldfinch 38, Greenfinch 23, Robin 20.
• Infrequently captured species included: Kestrel, House Sparrow, Redwing and for the time of year Blackcap and Chiffchaff  (JL)
